Children’s Film
Children’s films are especially made for a younger target audience. They are addressed to that young people, because they tell about the life of peers and that’s why the children can identify with them.
Very popular are series for children. Some of the first were “Heidi” and “Maya the Bee”. But did you know that Heidi is a Japanese anime series, which is based on the novel of the Swiss author Johanna Spyri?“
The Peanuts”, a comics of Charles M. Schulz, enjoyed great popularity for more than 50 years. The- leading actors Charlie Brown and Snoopy are still well known by young and old “children”.
Children also love animals, so they started to make films about animals for them. The best examples are: Free Willy, Lassie and Flipper.
If they want to watch something scary, they have the possibility to chose between some “horror films” in an alleviated modality, like The little Vampire, Ghostbusters and Scooby Doo.
A television channel in German TV which is only made for children is Ki.Ka, the “Kinderkanal” (children’s channel). Since 1997 they can watch television programs from 6 in the morning to 9 in the evening.
