Bollywood is the Indian counterpart to the American Hollywood. The name is a composition of the words Bombay and Hollywood. 900 film are produced every year, that makes the industry to one of the most productive in the world and not like always thought Hollywood.
The biggest difference between Hollywood and Bollywood is that the Asian movies are a lot more emotional. Even men show their selves from the sentimental side and let the tears run down their cheeks. Mostly the films are about love, hurt feelings, family and also religion.
The international best known actor from Bollywood is Sha Rukh Khan. The born Indian is not only in India a superstar, but also in Europe. He played his way in the hearts of the European fans and he is the unchallenged king of Indian movie. And who is the queen of Indian movie? There are two front-runner. Aishwarya Rai, the Miss World from 1994 and Rani Mukherjee, the member of a real Bollywood family. Most important part of the Bollywood movies are the singing and dancing. The movies are not imaginable without the dancing and singing acts. Averaged they take 5 minutes and happen 5 – 10 times in one movie. Often the Bollywood films are about unfulfilled and unhappy love. The man fights for the love of his dream girl until she admits to herself that she also loves him. The movies cover a lot of topics: love, desperation, hope, promise, anger, heroism and also a little bit jocularity. All in all they are very emotional and always end in a happy ending. The lovers find to each other after a lot a seesaw changes and that’s why the Bollywood movies are so fair and beautiful, the happy ending. That makes hope to all the unhappy lovers.
